Rupert Murdoch offers $80B to purchase Time Warner’s cable network portfolio
By Kevin Kelly • July 18, 2014In an effort to boost it’s sports portfolio and better challenge ESPN, Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp has reportedly offered Time Warner $80 Billion to purchase it’s roster of cable networks including TNT & TBS. This does not relate to Time Warner Media, owner.operator of local cable systems which are pending sale to Comcast.
