McDonald’s Gets Super-Sized Backlash With Instagram Ads

McDonald’s recently ran a number of sponsored ads on Instagram to appeal to millennials and promote the Bacon Clubhouse burger. However, these marketing efforts have been falling flat with a swarm of backlash against the burger chain’s ads. This suggests that while Instagram ads offer the opportunity to reach a unique audience, consumers may not be ready to see ads from brands they don’t follow – especially when they’re not relevant.
