McDonald’s New Value Menu Slow Out the Gate

McDonald’s had a very successful 2017, but 2018 is shaking out to be a bit more challenging. On Friday, the chain had its worst dollar decline in history as a publicly traded company. Why the steep decline? Advertising messaging has been centered around the new $1 $2 $3 Value Menu, which has stolen attention from local marketing. McDonald’s CEO, Steve Easterbrook thinks the decline will be short-lived and that the chain is in “a power position to leverage its product.”
