Fatburger to expand to Houston

Fatburger announced on Monday that it partnered with Croft Ventures, the Dallas-based parent company of Famous Franchises, to develop 25 Fatburger restaurants in Texas. The first stores are expected to open in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Austin. Curtis Croft, chief executive of Fatburger franchisee Croft Ventures, said he planned to turn Fatburger into Texas’ new staple burger joint. Fatburger was founded by Lovie Yancey in Los Angeles more than 70 years ago. The chain is known for its made-to-order gourmet hamburgers with add-ons such as bacon, onion rings, cheese and egg. The chain is owned by parent company FAT Brands, which franchises more than 400 restaurants, including 200 Fatburger locations, worldwide.
