As Ad Revenue Hits a New High, Facebook Pours Money into Watch

Earlier this year, Facebook launched its new video streaming section of the site called Watch. Facebook said that their expenses are expected to grow nearly 60% as they experiment with different types of video content and spark interest in the new product. However, they expect the product to eventually be supported by ad revenue. Ad revenue for Facebook is up 50% from last year. Watch commercials would create more space on Facebook for ads and brands like Visa saw positive results testing their ad breaks on the platform.
