Inside One Designer’s Plan to Make Brand Logos More Eco-Friendly

What Sylvain Boyer started as an effort to make his daughter’s birthday invitations cheaper has evolved into a project for small design changes to make a large environmental impact. Boyer, a creative designer at Interbrand Paris, said that a brand’s logo will ultimately be printed billions of times, and, “all that has an ecological and environmental impact.” Some chemicals in printer ink are harmful to the environment, so cutting back could help significantly, not to mention how much money it would save companies. In the link below, Boyer mocked up various examples of major brand logos that could cut back on the ink while maintaining the same look.
