Media buyers’ guide to the Super Bowl

Some fun trivia to throw out at your Super Bowl party this weekend. Who doesn’t like to talk about how much money is spent on the ads and the effect the game has on society?

This year it’s not in-game tech glitches that have Fox worried. It’s the weather forecast for New Jersey. This is the first time a Super Bowl has been held outdoors in a cold weather city, and if the forecast calls for heavy snow, the NFL has said that it will move the game to Saturday or Monday, depending on the conditions.

Either one could be disastrous from a ratings standpoint. People plan Super Bowl parties well in advance, and putting the game on an unfamiliar night could have a huge impact on ratings.
