Mtn Dew, Doritos to host esports tournament for ‘Call of Duty’

Two of the more stereotypical “gaming” brands are working together to promote the huge fall gaming release of “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.” PepsiCo’s Mtn Dew and Doritos brands are sponsoring a tournament at the Thunder Esports Center in California and will pit players against each other in the game’s multiplayer modes.
Fans who can’t attend the tournament in person can view the livestreamed action on Twitch, Facebook and Twitter starting at noon PDT on Sept. 14.
Mtn Dew and Doritos are also giving fans a chance to unlock special game content and win merchandise by using codes found on specially marked packaging.
