Facebook Tests Video Tab, Intensifying YouTube Rivalry

Facebook Inc. is testing a dedicated video channel, ratcheting up its rivalry with AlphabetInc.’s YouTube for viewers’ time and advertisers’ spending. Facebook said Tuesday the channel would appear as a tab on users’ home pages, where users can save videos that have appeared in their news feed. Facebook will also include recommended videos based on other videos a user has watched, as well as videos posted by friends, companies and celebrities they follow.
