Pinterest Opens Full-Fledged Search Targeting to Compete With Google

In an effort to compete with Google and position itself as a search engine—rather than a social network—Pinterest has expanded its capabilities for brands to target consumers via keyword and shopping campaigns. While Pinterest has a leg up on Google by readily sharing consumer identities and preferences with brands, companies are still hesitant to invest heavily in the platform’s new offering.
