Snap acquires Placed to better measure in-app ads to in-store sales

Snapchat is joining forces with Placement, a location analytics company, to get in-depth insights on the effects of digital advertising. Currently, Snapchat is able to recognize when a person is using the app in a marketer-specific location and then check if that person had previously been served any ads from that brand on Snapchat. With Placement’s help, Snapchat can expand this tracking beyond just Snapchat ads providing a much wider range of results and measurements.
