With 200M Daily Users, Giphy Will Soon Test Sponsored Gifs

The popular GIF search engine Giphy is about to find a new revenue stream from advertisers and brands. Users searching for the perfect GIF reaction may soon encounter sponsored GIFs on the messaging platform. Even though you may not look for a brand specifically, a search for something like “morning” could include a Starbucks GIF in the results. Although Giphy has yet to launch its ad products, the change could offer a unique opportunity to brands who want to engage with their customers in a different medium.
