Americans Waste a Huge Amount of Food Every Year. Should Big Brands Be Worried?

Over the past year, more and more consumers have become concerned with food waste. However, this has put big food companies in a tough position; anti-waste marketing tactics have not driven brand preference, but no one wants to be the example of what not to do. There are several startup companies such as Misfit Juicery and Toast Ale that are taking ingredients that would have been thrown out, to create a whole new product. These products bring awareness to the issue and inspiration for the solution.
