Impossible Burger Draws Environmentalist’s Ire

The vegetarian “Impossible Burger” is becoming available in a growing number of restaurants, including fast-food chain, White Castle. The magic ingredient in the Impossible Burger is heme, which makes the burger sizzle, smell and taste like red meat. However, because this plant-based chemical is so new, the FDA is requiring more tests of the product’s safety. There is also speculation that the chemical could link to colon cancer, of which red meat lovers are more at risk.
