McDonald’s Latest Innovation Is an Over-Engineered Straw

McDonald’s latest invention, the Suction Tube for Reverse Axial Withdrawal (or STRAW, for short), arrives just in time for its annual Chocolate Shamrock Shake promotion. In a Facebook Live stream earlier this week, tech YouTuber Austin Evans explained the new technology’s capability to extract proportional amounts of both chocolate and mint in each sip. The chain is offering the frivolous device to 2,000 customers at select restaurants nationwide in an attempt to generate buzz around one of its most popular seasonal offerings.
