McDonald’s pushes breakfast chicken nationwide

Ahead of The Wendy’s planned debut of systemwide breakfast this quarter, McDonald’s announced on Tuesday that it was, at least for a limited time, offering its Chicken McGriddles and McChicken Biscuit breakfast sandwiches systemwide. Both sandwiches have been long available in Southern markets.
Americans in 2019 consumed nearly 102 billion breakfasts, with another 50 billion morning snack occasions rounding out the average morning.
McDonald’s noted that it was working on speed of service as well, putting a strategic focus on drive-thru. The company said that its McDonald’s USA division had reduced drive-thru wait times by an average of 20 seconds across all dayparts in 2019.
