Will In-N-Out be the next chain to ditch antibiotic-treated meat?

Public interest groups are pressuring the beloved California-burger chain to stop serving meat from animals regularly treated with antibiotics, reports Reuters. Several chains, including Subway and Panera, have already pledged to transition to using only antibiotic-free meats, while other companies such as McDonald’s and Papa John’s have said they’ll switch to antibiotic-free poultry. And it sounds like In-N-Out may be joining them: The company’s vice-president of quality told Reuters, “Our company is committed to beef that is not raised with antibiotics important to human medicine and we’ve asked our suppliers to accelerate their progress towards establishing antibiotic alternatives,” though they did not offer a timeline for making that change.
